As I was just getting ready to write about wrapping pretty presents, I totally had a random thought… Where does the saying “Keeping it under wraps” come from anyways? I really don’t know.

But today I am proud of myself…

I actually took some extra time wrapping presents. I love gifts, both finding the perfect one and receiving (perfect ones, kidding…). But two things I fail at are getting my gifts to the recipient on time, and coming up with cute wrapping ideas. Even if the gift is crappy, its always better when the presentation is cute. So today, regardless of the fact this this particular gift is over a month late, I forwent my usual bag and tissue duo and did this instead…

Matching paper and card from Snow & Graham, Fabric poufs are ones I made for a project I never finished (my life story). At least I could repurpose them! :)

I love scouring all the “wedding” blogs for inspiration and ideas for shooting weddings–and for party planning ideas (ie Clara’s birthday coming up and a baby shower for one of my best friends next month)… And today I just fell in swooning love with everything from the design shoot of Katherine Robinson’s vintage style dresses–Thank you Brides Cafe for sharing this!! It makes me want to have a 2nd wedding with my dear Mr. Harrell (that is the younger Mr. Harrell, or rather the oldest of the younger Mr. Harrells) YIKES–hope that didn’t get too confusing!! Anyways… if my name were Juliette, I think that would look just perfect written across one of the hat boxes…

My friend Steph Z tagged me on her blog I’m supposed to share the 4th photo on my blog in my 4th folder of blog-life. So of course, it’s Madeline–What are the odds?! This was taken June of 2007. I completely forgot about these photos, but I love her vibrant blue eyes, and her funky [...]

I completely forgot about these photos, but I love her vibrant blue eyes, and her funky little curl! She had just come back from swimming. So find out if you are one of my 4 tagees are after the photo…

I cannot believe that it is fall, and almost time for Halloween and Thanksgiving. Which reminds me that I need to come up with my Thanksgiving Day menu…unless you want to [...]

Last weekend, I forced Chris and Madeline along on a photoshoot. Actually I think they both secretly wanted to come and hold my reflector for me… I was in a new location Stanwood, and I wanted to scope out fun spots early in the morning before we began the shoot. I didn’t do much “scoping” [...]

Actually I think they both secretly wanted to come and hold my reflector for me… I was in a new location Stanwood, and I wanted to scope out fun spots early in the morning before we began the shoot. I didn’t do much “scoping” once Madeline found the playground, but I did get a few shots of my “apprentices.”

Ok, so I keep thinking that I will not blog out of order, but I cannot help it again! I’m almost finished editing photos of Josh and Heather and their two lovely daughters, and this photo has stood out to me from the beginning! I look at it, and feel like I’m spying on their moment, as though I shouldn’t have been there for “The Kiss.” This was taken right after sunset, so there is just enough light to see their faces, but it is still dark and mysterious!

After I blog some more in order, I’ll finish posting photos from their session!

Here’s my Photo Of The Day. (I’ll probably be good for photo of the week). This weeks theme is “focus into 2008.” f5.6 @ 1/250 ISO 200 Auto WB. I love that the “s” is out of focus, on the word “focus.” I guess it adds to the irony! This is a long telescope used [...]

f5.6 @ 1/250 ISO 200 Auto WB. :) I love that the “s” is out of focus, on the word “focus.” I guess it adds to the irony! This is a long telescope used to watch sailboats in Bellingham Bay. The second photo is me trying to focus about a foot into the other end of the scope, I thought it would be a cool self portrait. (It didn’t work) HA!

Remember that songwriter, Sara Bareilles, I posted on my blog? Well as a thank-you gift from Dee (see maternity photos below), she bought me the CD! I’m so excited. I’ve been listening to it everyday. Thank you so much Dee.

Regardless that it was snowing in Bellingham, I told the Millers to put on their snow gear and do the shoot! How many people get real snow in their Christmas photos? Not a whole lot if you live in our neck of the woods! Bellingham bay was calm and quite, a dramatic change from when I shot Tom and Carrie’s photos. The snow was light and lively, and Micah, Maliah, and Jaden were so natural in front of the camera! I think Micah was a little baby model when he was born too…Am I remembering correctly Chantel?

It was so fun to play in the snow with your family! Enjoy your photos.
