I’ve had the cast off for a week now, and my fingers are finally starting to get back to normal! I’m still stiff, and sore, but I’m making progress. I can type (2 handed) and I can hold the camera steady (with a light lens). Here is Madeline getting ready for winter!

Madeline and I enjoyed a night (afternoon) on the town trick-or-treating at all the local shops. She went as the Doctor, and apparently I was the patient… Nice Lady: “Ooooohhhhh, I just love your costume.” (um yeah, I’m not dressed up, but I can’t be “that” scary looking…) Me: “What, I’m not dressed up at [...]

Nice Lady: “Ooooohhhhh, I just love your costume.”
(um yeah, I’m not dressed up, but I can’t be “that” scary looking…)

Me: “What, I’m not dressed up at all.”

Nice Lady: No, I mean your cast! What a great idea to give yourself a cast when your child is the doctor!”

Me: (after wiping my “You’ve gotta be kidding!” look off my face). “No, actually its real.”

Nice Lady: “Oh, well what a great idea anyway!”

Me: “Yeah huh…I guess!”

I love the Fuller Family, and for months we were waiting in eager anticipation for their family shoot, but having a cast on makes for awkward times!! They were super happy to have any photos they could and were unbelievably understanding about my situation. I just had to get some sort of fall photos in, however I will not be shooting anything else until the cast comes off (Nov. 8th)!!! At which point I’ll also enjoy typing with two hands….

Cheers!

I just had to do something fun with the plain cast! Painting on polka dots was the least painful of my ideas. Only next time I’ll remember to use paint that doesn’t take 24-48 hours to dry, and I won’t use a blow dryer on high heat to try to speed along the process! Now [...]

Only next time I’ll remember to use paint that doesn’t take 24-48 hours to dry, and I won’t use a blow dryer on high heat to try to speed along the process! Now I’m just wondering the best way to sleep in bed with wet paint???

Madeline officially started ballet lessons! Our daughter is a full fledged ballerina wanna-be. During our pregnancy, Chris and I wondered what sports our child would play…what instruments they would choose, what animals they would like…etc. Then all of a sudden that day comes–where the fantasies become realities–WOW! During our pregnancy, Chris and I wondered what sports our child would play…what instruments they would choose, what animals they would like…etc. Then all of a sudden that day comes–where the fantasies become realities–WOW! Ballet hit us like Babe Ruth on a homer! I suppose ballet lessons are a right of passage for parents of girls. Madeline was quite the drama queen dancer during the free-style dance! She loves her teacher Amanda, and so far the studio “Dancing For Joy” is the perfect place for us (they serve espresso for parents while they wait during classes). :) These photos are from the first day…I had to shoot through a little window, so please ignore any glare!
